USA: Mangione Indicted for Murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO

Washington (USA), Dec 17 (LaPresse) – Luigi Mangione has been indicted for the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The announcement was made during a press conference by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

The 26-year-old has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder, including a terrorism-related charge. The killing of Brian Thompson was "brazen, targeted, and premeditated," Bragg said.

The maximum penalty for first-degree murder, the prosecutor stated, is life imprisonment without the possibility of parole; for second-degree murder, the sentence is up to 25 years.
