Seoul (South Korea) – The deposed South Korean president, Yoon Suk Yeol, failed to show up for questioning before the Corruption Investigation Bureau for senior officials where he was to be heard regarding his brief imposition of martial law. This was reported by the Yonhap news agency. Yoon is accused of inciting insurrection by declaring martial law on 3 December and has been suspended pending his trial before the Constitutional Court for his impeachment by the National Assembly. Bureau chief Oh Dong-woon told the National Assembly Legislative Committee that the summons was ‘deliberately’ rejected by Yoon and that his agency would promptly take ‘legitimate’ measures in response.
