Rome, 1 May (LaPresse) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the Speaker of the Tehran Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, are reportedly exerting pressure to secure the dismissal of Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. This is according to Iran International, a London-based newspaper. The criticism levelled at him is that he is too close to the Pasdaran. Pezeshkian and Ghalibaf – it is explained – believe that in recent weeks, Araghchi has behaved less like a minister responsible for implementing government policies and more like an assistant to Ahmad Vahidi, commander of the Revolutionary Guards. This situation is said to have caused deep dissatisfaction among Mr Pezeshkian, who reportedly told his colleagues that, should the situation persist, he would dismiss Mr Araghchi, according to information reported by the sources.
