Rome, 21 December (LaPresse) – ‘The Meloni government's manoeuvre is a manoeuvre of privileges, totally unfair from a social and environmental point of view. They have told fairy tales to the Italians, a very long sequence of lies. The reality is in the numbers, and those of the manoeuvre are profoundly unfair. They find EUR 15 billion for the Messina Strait Bridge, they increase spending on armaments, they do not touch the extra profits of banks, energy and insurance companies, we are talking about EUR 132 billion over two years, but they cut social services, schools, public health and transport. This is a manoeuvre that leaves the country on its knees and gives alms to pensioners with a 1.8 euro increase per month, practically a cup of coffee. Not even the Sheriff of Nottingham could have done worse'. Thus in a note Angelo Bonelli, MP for AVS and national co-spokesperson of Green Europe, who continued: ‘We are the last country in Europe for the growth of salaries, which are stationary since 1990. 5.7 million people live in absolute poverty, 4.5 million renounce treatment because of their economic conditions and the drama of waiting lists. Giorgetti had declared that there would be sacrifices in this manoeuvre, but it is the usual well-known who are affected. A manoeuvre that forgets the climate crisis and gives the green light to wild hunting, confirming that this government is a serial hater of animals and nature,' he concludes.
