Milan, Dec 17 (LaPresse) – The Italian film Vermiglio is among the 15 films shortlisted for Best International Feature Film at the upcoming Oscars. This was announced by the Academy Awards in a statement.
Vermiglio, directed by Maura Delpero, previously won the Silver Lion at the 81st Venice International Film Festival and is also nominated for the Golden Globes in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
The shortlist also includes the following films: I'm Still Here (Brazil), Universal Language (Canada), Waves (Czech Republic), The Girl with the Needle (Denmark), Emilia Pérez (France), The Seed of the Sacred Fig (Germany), Touch (Iceland), Kneecap (Ireland), Flow (Latvia), Armand (Norway), From Ground Zero (Palestine), Dahomey (Senegal), How to Make Millions before Grandma Dies (Thailand), Santosh (United Kingdom).
The official nominations will be announced on January 17, 2025, while the Oscars ceremony will take place on March 2, 2025, in Los Angeles.
